Dedicating a new ambulance with members of the Damascus Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps, which serves 112 square miles in Wayne County. For 55 years, devoted volunteers have given freely of their time for the protection of their community. @traver1111 of Sweet Valley served as my job shadow in Harrisburg today. Following a discussion with @repcabell she joined me for various meetings and observed a committee hearing that included a brief delay due to a fire evacuation. Shelby is a Lake-Lehman SD alumna and recently graduated from @universityofscranton where she majored in International Business, Political Science, and Philosophy. She earned a scholarship from @the_fulbright_program to study women in politics in Rwanda this fall. There is a tremendous future ahead for this bright young lady!

Nanticoke residents Brandon Shay and his dad Mike represented Troop 418 today as participants from across Pennsylvania presented their 7th Annual @boyscoutsofamerica Report to the Commonwealth.

Today, @reprosemarybrown, @senmartyflynn and I welcomed Matt Guedes and his wife, Kelley, to the #PASenate where Matt served as guest chaplain.

He and the @campfreedompa team are well-known throughout northeastern Pennsylvania, our commonwealth, and the nation, for offering hope and help through the healing environment of the outdoors and nature. They have served more than 10,000 veterans, and first responders, and their family members, as well as Gold Star families.

Matt exemplifies faith and service in wonderful combination. His ministry, his Army service, his devotion to his wife and children, are evidence of special kinds of commitment. His words reflect inner qualities; his deeds demonstrate an uncommon sort of leadership through constructive action.

We spent some time this week, both in Harrisburg and at home, discussing legislation and celebrating the real estate profession with members of @parealtors including the Greater Scranton Board of Realtors, the Luzerne County Association of Realtors, and the Pike/Wayne Association of Realtors.

4th graders at the @dmsschoolpa joined me and Rep. Jonathan Fritz as legislators for the day, participating in a mock session where they learned about state government and public policy.

@llguidance 8th grade students gathered for a hands-on learning experience as part of The Pollinator Project/Wildflower Garden community initiative. After hearing from @pheasants_forever Chapter 803, the Luzerne @paconservation District and the @pagamecomm on the impact pollinators have on our ecosystem, everyone got their hands dirty planting wildflower seeds on more than three acres of land near the Lehman Township Municipal Building. #pollinatorgarden #pollination #pollinatorspecies

Today, I was honored to join the Wyoming County District Attorney’s Office and Detective Dave Ide in dedicating the Tunkhannock Police Officers Memorial - a project 15 years in the making. We will never forget those officers who have given the ultimate sacrifice in protecting the safety and security of our communities. We recognize their service and extend our thanks and appreciation to the surviving members of the their families. #fallenofficers
